The 2025 film Song Sung Blue is a dramatized, largely faithful adaptation of the 17-year career and 12-year marriage of Mike Sardina (Hugh Jackman), a divorced 20-years sober Vietnam veteran, and hairdresser/vocalist Claire Stengl (Kate Hudson). Together they form a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning & Thunder. As they navigate their personal struggles and pursue their dreams, they find unexpected success and purpose in their music, becoming local celebrities. Rotten Tomatoes score: 97% positive reviews.
