Please join Karen and Gwen for a wonderful hike on Wednesday, December 2nd at 9:30 am. The hike begins with the tail end of Hoyles Mill Trail (HMT) and then enters the west side of Black Hills Regional Park. There are beautiful views of Little Seneca Lake. From HMT we will walk a road with no vehicle access to begin Cabin Branch Trail > Hamilton Trail>cross the Boat Mooring Area and Public Boat Ramp and back on the road ending with Hoyles Mill Trail. This lollipop trail is primarily packed dirt, tree roots and leaves. There is one major creek crossing that we have re-routed. Hiking sticks are suggested. The hike is 4.5 miles with a cumulative elevation of 345 feet. The hike should last about 2 hours. There are port-a-potties at the boat mooring area. Rain date is Wednesday, December 9th. Directions: From Poolesville > Route 28 Darnestown Road > Left on MD 117 (Bucklodge Road) go 4.1 miles and make a left at the traffic light on to MD 121/Clarksburg Road. From the traffic light drive 0.7 miles and make a right to the Clarksburg Road Trail Access Parking Lot. There is plenty of room for several cars.
