Please join Karen and Gwen for a beautiful fall hike on Ten Mile Creek Trail on Wednesday, October 7 at 9 am. This hike is for moderate hikers who can hike 2.5-3.0 miles per hour. It is a straight in and straight out hike for about 5.5 miles along Little Seneca Creek. We will not be doing the whole 10 mile hike! We will leave the parking area promptly at 9am and should be back by 11:15-30 am. The trail consists of packed dirt with some tree roots and a few rocks. There are beautiful views of Little Seneca Lake along the way. There are no creek crossings nor rock scrambles. Cumulative elevation is 300 feet. Rain date is October 14th.

From Poolesville >Route 28>Bucklodge Rd>Barnesville Rd. Turn left at the light at the junction of Barnesville Rd and Clarksburg Rd. The parking lot is BEFORE you cross the bridge. There is also plenty of parking on the side of the road.
Karen Dansby was born and raised in Arlington, VA. She spent 20+ years in eastern Kentucky, then retired to Sedona, AZ. Karen participated in trail maintenance in Sedona, hiked and participated in Preventive Search and Rescue for almost 10 years at the South and North Rim of the Grand Canyon. She moved back to Poolesville to be close to family.
Gwen Haney grew up in rural PA but did most of her hiking while living in Arizona, in the mountains and canyons of the southwest. She moved to Maryland 17 years ago to be near family and continues to enjoy being outdoors and on trails.
